Real-time event syncing

How long does it take to sync events to and from native calendars and Year Glance?

Year Glance syncs with Google and Microsoft calendars. Most of the time, changes appear very quickly. Occasionally, there can be short delays.

This is normal and depends on how Google and Microsoft send updates to us.

  • Google Calendar: usually just a few seconds
  • Microsoft / Outlook / 365 Calendar: typically 1–3 minutes

In some cases:

  • There may be a short delay
  • An update may not arrive immediately
  • A manual refresh may be needed

This behaviour is controlled by Google and Microsoft’s systems, not Year Glance.

If something looks out of date:

  • Wait a minute or two
  • Refresh your browser
  • If needed, you may need to disconnect and reconnect your Google or Microsoft account.

How to force sync the calendars if it doesn't sync after a few minutes

  • In Year Glance, select the Manual refresh button.
  • In Outlook browser, refresh the browser.
  • In Outlook app, try navigating to a different month and then back again.
If that doesn't work, close the app and open it again.

To trigger a manual calendar sync in Year Glance, select the Refresh icon next to the last synced time near the top of the screen.

If a sync issue persists beyond a few minutes and you have tried these steps, please contact Year Glance support and let us know:
  • Which calendar type you are using and what browser/app you use to view your native calendar
  • What action you performed
  • The time the change was made

This helps us investigate more effectively.
